C-A220 TSO Icom - On-board fixed transceiver VHF / AM aeronautical with TSO certification
The IC-A220 TSO vehicle radio is the TSO / ETSO approved version that meets the requirements as a primary VHF radio for advanced category aircraft.
Icom's IC-A220 VHF Airband has recently acquired FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and TSO (Technical Standard Order) clearance, so this radio can be installed on all general aviation aircraft. The IC-A220 TSO is also compliant with EASA ETSO (European Aviation Safety Agency's European Technical Standard Order) regulations.
The TSO is a minimum performance standard for specific materials, components, processes and appliances for civil aircraft. The TSO also requires the manufacturer to demonstrate the ability to develop and manufacture products with a standard quality control process.
This transceiver with 8W (carrier) of RF power is equipped with a large OLED display, which stands out for its high brightness, contrast and high readability in all operating conditions. The selection of the stored channels is done using the arrow buttons, and it is possible to monitor two channels simultaneously. It can be easily installed in most aircraft and is equipped with a voice activated intercom function, thus allowing communication between pilot and co-pilot via headset.
