Nut braking cage nut
MS27151 engine nuts replace AC356 Palnuts. They are stamped from 1050 spring steel and cadmium plated to QQ-P-416A, Type II, Class 3.
Palnut® locking nuts incorporate a design principle that has stood the test of more than 60 years. These nuts can be used alone to carry loads in lightweight assemblies or they can be used over ordinary nuts to provide tightness in highly stressed assemblies. They offer significant savings over alternative fasteners in terms of initial cost, assembly time, weight and space. They are removable, reusable, self-cleaning. They are not affected by temperatures up to 400°.
The tension nuts are pre-mounted on the adjustment screws at a predetermined point. Subsequent rotation of the screw advances the tension nut until it touches the work. The spikes on the base of the nut then "bite" and resist further rotation.
